1、 Principle

2. Product Description
Photosensitive dyes themselves do not change color when exposed to light. They can only change color when dissolved in media, such as solvent, resin, and plastic. They will show different colors in different polarities.
3. Product characteristics

Photosensitive dyes are organic dyes, which can achieve complete light transmission. It can be used in plastic processing, oily ink and paint. Different types of photosensitive dyes have different color development degree and achromatic speed.
4. Recommended dosage (example: film forming 20um, plastic rice molding 0.2cm)

Photosensitive dyes used in oil based inks and coatings 0.02% - 0.3% wlw (0.1%)
Photosensitive dye bucket for plastic half bucket injection and extrusion 0.01% - 0.3% w/w (0.01%)
5. Precautions

Processing temperature: when applied to plastic injection and extrusion, it is recommended that the processing temperature be lower than 200 ℃, and thermal stabilizer can be added.
Light fatigue: excessive exposure to UV light, acid, free radicals and humidity will cause light fatigue of photochromic materials. It is recommended to add UV absorbers and antioxidants to increase the light fastness, but too much UV absorbers may block the absorption of UVA, resulting in poor color change effect, or even failure to change color.
Solubility: different types of photosensitive dyes have different solubility to the formula, and our standard formula can be used for printing ink and coating. For the solubility of photosensitive dyes in different solvents, please contact our company.

5. Precautions

D. Photosensitive masterbatch
1. Product Description
Our standard photosensitive masterbatch is produced by mixing 1% photosensitive dye with 99% plastic material, light stabilizer and antioxidant.
2. Product characteristics
It is easy to disperse and use, and can be directly applied to plastic injection and extrusion.
3. Recommended dosage (e.g. plastic molding 0.2cm)
Photosensitive masterbatch for plastic injection and extrusion 1% - 5% wlw (1%)
4. Precautions
Standard master batch: PE master batch. It can also be made of other materials, such as PP/TPU/TPR/EVA
Formula: Our photosensitive masterbatch has its own special formula, which is different from the color change effect of simply using photosensitive microcapsule powder or photosensitive dye.

5、 Supplementary notes
A. Color change reference: there is color change.

 

B. Photosensitive series products, except for photosensitive dyes, are all pigment types, which will produce varying degrees of shielding effects. C. When applying photorefractive materials, please confirm whether their sunlight resistance meets customer requirements.

6、 Other information
A. Storage and duration: Store in a dry and cool place. The storage life is 2 years.
B. Test report: our photochromic products have passed EN-71 and RoHS tests. It can be used in food packaging and toy manufacturing.
